A different approach to employment advice and resolution.

OUR APPROACH

Curran Advisory was established on the belief that good employment advice requires more than an understanding of the law. It requires an appreciation of the people, relationships and organisational realities behind every decision.

Having worked across private legal practice, Crown Law and in senior public service leadership, Cathryn has seen workplace challenges from both sides — as a legal adviser and as a leader responsible for making difficult decisions.

That experience shapes Curran Advisory's approach today: independent, pragmatic and human-centred advice that considers the whole picture and helps clients find a practical way forward.

Meet Cathryn

Cathryn Curran
Founder, Curran Advisory

I've spent my career working at the intersection of employment law, leadership and people. As a barrister with organisational experience, I bring both legal expertise and a practical understanding of the challenges facing employers and leaders.

I hold a Master of Laws and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2001. My experience spans large private law firms, Crown Law and senior public service leadership roles.

Throughout my career, I've seen that even when the legal position is clear, the right way forward isn't always straightforward. Workplace issues involve people, relationships and organisational realities, and understanding that context is just as important as understanding the law.

I established Curran Advisory to bring these perspectives together, offering clear, pragmatic and human-centred advice. My approach is to listen, ask the right questions and help clients navigate complexity with confidence.

A conversation is a good
